According to this PCGamer news story, Valve will be partnering with iFixit to sell replacement parts for it’s Steam Deck. This will allow users to do repairs on their own at home and follows through on their promise to make replacement parts readily available.

In the update on Steam, Valve wrote that iFixit will be one of the “authorized” sellers of replacement parts for the Steam Deck, as well as the Valve Index VR kit. The details however, are still being “hammered” out and more information will be coming shortly.

Steam also sent iFixit a Steam Deck and a teardown video has now been posted. This comes on the heels of Steam releasing the CAD files for the Steam Deck, allowing 3D printer owners to print their own shells.
