In an interview with Youtube Channel MinnMax, director of Super Mario RPG Chihiro Fujioka wants to close out his career making a sequel to Super Mario RPG. The series has had only a single release on the Super Nintento Entertainment System and is not currently availabe on the Nintendo Switch
A legend in his own right, Fujioka has worked on many different legendary titles influencing franchises focused on Mario and Luigi, Final Fantasy and more.
“Yeah, I would absolutely love to make one… in my career I’ve been involved with a lot of games, and I would really like my final one to be another Mario RPG game if possible” said Fujioka in the interview.
