Google has announced the release of Chrome OS FLEX according to a MacRumors report.
Chrome OS FLEX is targeted at individuals, schools and businesses who have outdated equipment, allowing them to try modern computing with cloud-based management, while extending the lifespan of older devices and reducing e-waste.
The OS is built on the same base as Chrome OS and includes most of the same capabilities; with the exception of the app store and is available for free to individuals for testing. Institutions such as schools however will be charged a fee as part of the CloudReady service.
